The Medalist

March 1, 2017

Frank Waller of Menominee was a student athlete at the University of Wisconsin, a silver medalist at the 1904 Olympics, a celebrated concert pianist who toured with the legendary singer Lillian Russell, and Director of several Orchestras including the national WPA orchestra in the 1930's. He is also the man who informed a fellow musician, William T Purdy about a $100 prize that the University of Minnesota was offering for a new fight song. That song became "On Wisconsin".
