Besides the fact that the Wizard of Oz premiered in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin and that the Coroner of Munchkintown was played by Meinhardt Raabe of Watertown, I would like to note that the Oscar winning incidental score and orchestration  was the work of MGM's golden age music director Herbert Stothart and his team.  Stothart was one of many Hollywood composers and arrangers who were born and raised in Milwaukee and he left us with with perhaps the most enduring of all the Wizard's wonderful tunes - a short instrumental ditty titled "Miss Gulch Theme", better known as the Wicked Witch theme.  He also composed the melody of the infamous "Indian Love Call", a song made famous by Jeannette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy and, by way of Slim Whitman, as a weapon in MARS ATTACKS....
